Armand De Vlaeminck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Yelle Kempenaerts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arsene Kindts charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arsene Kindts the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Arsene Kindts hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. If Armand De Vlaeminck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emile Gooris in the 16th minute of play forced Nevele's goalkeeper Yelle Kempenaerts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armand De Vlaeminck struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Yelle Kempenaerts didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KVSK Wijtschate. Mario Boumans didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tibau Langhmans went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Mario Boumans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tibau Langhmans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorre Wolput sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorre Wolput recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Jorre Wolput managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nevele's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorre Wolput was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mario Boumans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jorre Wolput fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mario Boumans having to interfere. In the 47th minute, KVSK Wijtschate's Emile Gooris ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Yelle Kempenaerts. Yelle Kempenaerts yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2.

The supporters of KVSK Wijtschate booed when Nevele was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Van Linthout didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emile Gooris struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Yelle Kempenaerts didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KVSK Wijtschate. Armand De Vlaeminck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yelle Kempenaerts having to interfere. After 68 minutes, Vic Kerkhofs mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KVSK Wijtschate and the Nevele players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to KVSK Wijtschate getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Vic Kerkhofs hit a great ball. After having played for 71 minutes, Tibau Langhmans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nevele's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tibau Langhmans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Tibau Langhmans's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mario Boumans was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. 97 minutes into the match, Jorre Wolput had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mario Boumans. KVSK Wijtschate's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorre Wolput was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. The Nevele players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
