Staf Ombelets hit a great ball. 6 minutes into the match, Club Nandrin's Steff Geijselinckx sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Giles Vanden Broucke narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Steff Geijselinckx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giles Vanden Broucke having to interfere. If Roni De Keijser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Club Nandrin defense, Arend Elzen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Teun Hollants. The Club Nandrin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Teun Hollants should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Putman got free with Giles Vanden Broucke in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Club Nandrin's Edward Putman got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gabriel Coveliers's late challenge caught a Club Nandrin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gabriel Coveliers helped the player get up and apologised. Edward Putman scored 1-1 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Giles Vanden Broucke, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 42nd minute, Steff Geijselinckx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of KFC Jalhay booed when Club Nandrin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maarten Leemans didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Club Nandrin's goal looked a bit too open when Roni De Keijser came free, but Teun Hollants reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teun Hollants didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arend Elzen went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After the first half KFC Jalhay were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arend Elzen to strike the kick off in the second half. Giles Vanden Broucke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Putman, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind KFC Jalhay's goalkeeper Giles Vanden Broucke, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. KFC Jalhay's Giles Vanden Broucke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steff Geijselinckx in the 60th minute of play. In the 66th of the match, Arend Elzen tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Teun Hollants got in the way and made a wonderful save. In the 68th match minute, KFC Jalhay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ben Hendrickx to maneuver through the defense. Giles Vanden Broucke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edward Putman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arend Elzen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teun Hollants having to interfere. Staf Ombelets charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Staf Ombelets the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Staf Ombelets hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Giles Vanden Broucke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steff Geijselinckx in the 81st minute of play. Edward Putman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giles Vanden Broucke having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Edward Putman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ruud Steenbecks's late challenge caught a KFC Jalhay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
