Tibo Cromefeldt ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tibo Cromefeldt got free with Bernardo Di Maio in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wannes van Elderen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Matias Colebrants read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. If Wannes van Elderen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matias Colebrants took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicky Coenen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Fc Rossem getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Leo Engelborgh hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wannes van Elderen in the 19th minute of play forced Fc Rossem's goalkeeper Matias Colebrants to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Stein Van Eyke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fc Rossem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lou Cromefeldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Wannes van Elderen made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, KFC Nederename's goal looked a bit too open when Lou Cromefeldt came free, but Bernardo Di Maio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matias Colebrants made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wannes van Elderen in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute Stein Van Eyke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Di Maio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Fc Rossem's Lou Cromefeldt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernardo Di Maio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Wannes van Elderen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Matias Colebrants was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. The corner led Fc Rossem's Crispijn Deprez to fire away a dangerous shot which Bernardo Di Maio despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The Fc Rossem players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
