The wind increased when Rudolf Sarg made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Zierings's Hans-Georg Schüddekopf got control of the ball when Andre Gabe tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johnson Long got free with Hans-Georg Schüddekopf in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Alexander Kludig's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hans-Georg Schüddekopf was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Steffen Jahnke hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute of the match, Andre Gabe got a very nice opportunity to score, but Hans-Georg Schüddekopf was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 89 minutes into the match, Johnson Long notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Zierings's Hans-Georg Schüddekopf. Hans-Georg Schüddekopf was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 95th match minute, Zierings was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Koslow to maneuver through the defense. The SV Salzburg supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SV Salzburg would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
