After 2 played minutes Petschnitzen FSV got a freekick which was hit by Thomas Jacksch. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, René Klare managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dornberg FC's supporters rose to their feet, but René Klare was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tim Kehl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Dornberg FC booed when Petschnitzen FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Driesen didn't get a good kick on the ball. The attack was good, but when René Klare in the 6th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 15th minute, Boris Breckheimer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marlon Ballack in the 18th minute of play forced Dornberg FC's goalkeeper Kai Hagedorn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Dornberg FC's Maik Behn got a free kick in the 18th minute. Tim Kehl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregor Seidenfad, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After having played for 32 minutes, René Klare managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dornberg FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but René Klare was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. René Klare sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kai Hagedorn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boris Breckheimer in the 43rd minute of the match. When Sebastian Driesen came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Petschnitzen FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Driesen couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gregor Seidenfad to strike the kick off in the second half. Kai Hagedorn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sebastian Driesen in the 52nd minute. After having played for 56 minutes, René Klare managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dornberg FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but René Klare was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Petschnitzen FSV's Marlon Ballack in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dornberg FC's goalie prevented a goal. Dornberg FC's Kai Hagedorn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marlon Ballack in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute Marlon Ballack shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kai Hagedorn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. René Klare received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Tim Kehl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Dornberg FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Nick Lauth hit a great ball. Gregor Seidenfad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Dornberg FC's zone, Boris Breckheimer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kai Hagedorn came out of the goal and Boris Breckheimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Marlon Ballack had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boris Breckheimer succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 89th playminute. Dornberg FC's Kai Hagedorn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Dornberg FC from getting a goal against them. 95 minutes into the match, Dornberg FC's René Klare sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tim Kehl narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tim Kehl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gregor Seidenfad in the 96th minute of play. Petschnitzen FSV's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
