But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michael Metzner couldn't finish the play. Fischa's Konrad Kreter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Randy Klaus in the 9th minute of play. Kevin Neustadt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Konrad Kreter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Randy Klaus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neuschitz FSV's Randy Klaus got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carsten Feistl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phillip Frisse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fischa's Konrad Kreter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Randy Klaus in the 32nd minute of play. Kevin Neustadt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Randy Klaus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Konrad Kreter having to interfere. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oliver Bommer was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Oliver Bommer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carsten Feistl was relentless in the 81st minute of the game.
