After a rather tough play, KSV Falken's Stefan Kasig got a free kick in the 7th minute. Lothar Reichel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wernhies 08's Steffen Jancker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marc-André Nachtsheim in the 10th minute of play. If Clemens Wilmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Steffen Jancker made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sören Woltering in the 21st minute. Steffen Jancker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Kirchner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute Michael Kirchner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steffen Jancker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marc-André Nachtsheim kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in KSV Falken's zone, Robert Giese stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julius-Lasse Lange came out of the goal and Robert Giese tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute Georg Störmer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julius-Lasse Lange saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 35 minutes, Marc-André Nachtsheim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KSV Falken's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marc-André Nachtsheim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 38th minute Ralf-Joachim Zeyer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steffen Jancker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Steffen Jancker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ralf-Joachim Zeyer in the 40th minute of play. 46 minutes into the game, Sören Woltering recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Steffen Jancker. Sören Woltering showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ralf-Joachim Zeyer made a kick off. When Michael Kirchner fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KSV Falken's protests and gave Michael Kirchner a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in KSV Falken's zone, Clemens Wilmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julius-Lasse Lange came out of the goal and Clemens Wilmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 56 minutes into the match, Sören Woltering had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Steffen Jancker. Wernhies 08's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sören Woltering was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Yannick Rist charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yannick Rist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 64th match minute, KSV Falken was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yannick Rist to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of KSV Falken booed when Wernhies 08 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Malliouris didn't get a good kick on the ball. Michael Malliouris struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Julius-Lasse Lange didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wernhies 08. Rudolf Limburg hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Steffen Jancker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sören Woltering in the 74th minute of play. After 75 played minutes Wernhies 08 got a freekick which was hit by Michael Malliouris. After having played for 76 minutes, Ralf-Joachim Zeyer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KSV Falken's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ralf-Joachim Zeyer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ralf-Joachim Zeyer came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the KSV Falken fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ralf-Joachim Zeyer couldn't finish the play. After having played for 88 minutes, Sören Woltering managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KSV Falken's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sören Woltering was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 91st minute, Michael Kirchner left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KSV Falken fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Wernhies 08's Steffen Jancker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ralf-Joachim Zeyer in the 96th minute of play. Wernhies 08's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
