Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jools Beard got the match started through his kick off. The Newton Abbot fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when Newton Abbot's Zackary Billington looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Budleigh Salterton's Alan Simms played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stewart Preston in the 8th minute of play. Zackary Billington hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After 11 played minutes Budleigh Salterton got a freekick which was hit by Jools Beard. 12 minutes into the match, Budleigh Salterton's goalkeeper Alan Simms had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zackary Billington. After having played for 15 minutes, Stewart Preston managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newton Abbot's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stewart Preston was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Newton Abbot booed when Budleigh Salterton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stephen Moyse didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Stewart Preston managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newton Abbot's supporters rose to their feet, but Stewart Preston was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alan Simms breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Budleigh Salterton's Alan Simms played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stewart Preston in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute Stewart Preston shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alan Simms saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 36 minutes, Stewart Preston managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newton Abbot's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stewart Preston was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cody Newell shot from long distance in the 39th minute, but Alan Simms was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Aaron Philpott received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Darren Parry tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when Stewart Preston made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Newton Abbot was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kenny Renwick to maneuver through the defense. Matt Dobson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute Stewart Preston shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alan Simms saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Newton Abbot's zone, Jools Beard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Darren Parry came out of the goal and Jools Beard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alan Simms showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stewart Preston in the 66th minute of the match. Stu Spink kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Stewart Preston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Simms having to interfere. In the 77th minute Zackary Billington shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alan Simms saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stephen Moyse hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Alan Simms showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zackary Billington, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Alan Simms took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stewart Preston, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Budleigh Salterton's zone, Stewart Preston stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alan Simms came out of the goal and Stewart Preston tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Newton Abbot's Stewart Preston in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Budleigh Salterton's goalie prevented a goal. Alan Simms showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zackary Billington, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. 97 minutes into the match, Stephen Moyse dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Darren Parry, 2-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Newton Abbot fully deserved thier win.
