Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Stewart Preston started the match with the kick off. Bobby Driver kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Darren Parry took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Thompson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacob Bond took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stewart Preston, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes into the game, one of Newton Abbot:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Darren Parry stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andrew Whitehead's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC Onion's zone, Matt Dobson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacob Bond came out of the goal and Matt Dobson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jacob Bond was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Matt Dobson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 29 minute of play. Darren Parry took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roy Flynn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 37 minutes into the match, Newton Abbot's goal looked a bit too open when John Thompson came free, but Darren Parry reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Newton Abbot getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Zackary Billington hit a great ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Bobby Driver's late challenge caught a Newton Abbot's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bobby Driver helped the player get up and apologised. In the 51st match minute, FC Onion was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bobby Driver to maneuver through the defense. Cody Newell took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jacob Bond. FC Onion's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Stewart Preston had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacob Bond. FC Onion's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stewart Preston was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 61st minute, Stewart Preston got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Darren Parry made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when John Thompson sent off a good shot on target. A hard shot 67 in the game by John Thompson from a close distance when the talented Darren Parry managed to make a qualified save. Newton Abbot's players were relieved. In the 69th match minute, FC Onion was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roy Flynn to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matt Dobson in the 71st minute of play forced FC Onion's goalkeeper Jacob Bond to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Guy Key had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 84th minute Zackary Billington shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacob Bond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 85 played minutes FC Onion got a freekick which was hit by Roy Flynn. A collision led to Newton Abbot getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Brian Renner hit a great ball. 94 minutes into the match, Newton Abbot's goal looked a bit too open when Guy Key came free, but Darren Parry reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute, FC Onion's Andrew Whitehead ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Darren Parry. Darren Parry yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. FC Onion's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
