Clive Spink was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ronan Titmus showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. Al Beattie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clive Spink made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Pierce Armstrong sent off a good shot on target. Al Beattie hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Lancing AFC's Clive Spink threw himself towards the right post 33 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ray Hales, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Titan's Clive Spink proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Titan from getting a goal against them. Clive Spink made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fitz Gray in the 38th minute of play. 40 minutes into the game, Lancing AFC's Ronan Titmus nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Clive Spink made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Ray Hales sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Clive Spink showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierce Armstrong in the 52nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Will Le Tissier in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ron Briant saved Lancing AFC from getting behind. After having played for 57 minutes, Pierce Armstrong managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lancing AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pierce Armstrong was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Titan's Clive Spink played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pierce Armstrong in the 59th minute of play. In the 63rd minute Ronan Titmus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clive Spink saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Lancing AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Will Le Tissier came free, but Ron Briant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clive Spink showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierce Armstrong in the 66th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Don Styles got free with Ron Briant in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Pierce Armstrong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clive Spink showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fitz Gray in the 92nd minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 96 minutes, Ron Briant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Lancing AFC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
