Stamford United's Stewart Endean got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Stewart Endean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 26 minutes, Ged Coates managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stamford United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ged Coates was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Duncan Hilton during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Crispin Rowland stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Stewart Endean left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Stamford United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. 60 minutes into the game, Harry Blake cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Jamal Jenkins was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Stewart Endean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. Ged Coates's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 79thth minute, Jamal Jenkins skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The audience was convinced that Stewart Endean's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jamal Jenkins was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. Harry Blake came free with the goalkeeper in the 83rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jamal Jenkins could save by the left post.
