Karasu's supporters rose to their feet, but Yaser Saygılı was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Saadettin Şehzat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 16 played minutes Mengen got a freekick which was hit by Barışcan Ziyaettin. With his leg Günay Olgunsoy managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Mengen's Sabahattin Kazım fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sabahattin Kazım in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Günay Olgunsoy saved Karasu from getting behind. Servet Vahat struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Günay Olgunsoy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mengen. If Yaser Saygılı had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melik Kutlubay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Saadettin Şehzat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yaser Saygılı fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saadettin Şehzat having to interfere. Günay Olgunsoy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Servet Vahat's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Sabahattin Kazım who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Günay Olgunsoy when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, Karasu's Günay Olgunsoy got control of the ball when Sabahattin Kazım tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Karasu's zone, Servet Vahat stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Günay Olgunsoy came out of the goal and Servet Vahat tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 44 minutes, Bektaş Veli Tanören mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Karasu and the Mengen players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sabahattin Kazım fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Günay Olgunsoy having to interfere. Sabahattin Kazım's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Günay Olgunsoy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Melik Kutlubay made the kick off in the second half. Özal Özbal hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 53rd minute Melik Kutlubay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saadettin Şehzat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Günay Olgunsoy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Servet Vahat in the 59th minute of play. If Servet Vahat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Mengen booed when Karasu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ali Vedat Sertel didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Sabahattin Kazım put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Günay Olgunsoy. In the 94th minute, Melik Kutlubay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Karasu's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
