The audience thought a goal was coming when Rıfkı Kuvvet got free with Semavi Tekdoğan in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 21 minutes into the match, Gayrettepe's goal looked a bit too open when Ali Cafer Yıldıray came free, but Musa Şems reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hendek's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gayrettepe the free kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Çağrı Akil made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cevahir Baydan during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 52 played minutes Hendek got a freekick which was hit by Cevahir Baydan. Çağrı Akil took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Semavi Tekdoğan. Semavi Tekdoğan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Rıfkı Kuvvet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Musa Şems showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ali Cafer Yıldıray, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Semavi Tekdoğan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Çağrı Akil in the 68th minute of play. Abdurrahman Oykan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abdurrahman Oykan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Musa Şems when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 86th match minute, Hendek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Recep İlter to maneuver through the defense. Ersan Bozok was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 87th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Çağrı Akil in the 89th minute of play forced Hendek's goalkeeper Semavi Tekdoğan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
