In the 12th minute, Mesudiye's Erkan Zeynelabidin ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ahmet Nasir Baykal. Ahmet Nasir Baykal yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Ahmet Nasir Baykal stood somewhat misplaced when Cihangir Beyhan came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 15 minute. 18 minutes into the match, Yavuz Bülent Taib had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tugay Rekin. Mesudiye's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Yavuz Bülent Taib was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Cihangir Beyhan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Ahmet Nasir Baykal when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Cihangir Beyhan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute, Erkan Zeynelabidin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tugay Rekin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yavuz Bülent Taib, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Balcova's zone, Erkan Zeynelabidin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ahmet Nasir Baykal came out of the goal and Erkan Zeynelabidin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yavuz Bülent Taib in the 48th minute of play forced Mesudiye's goalkeeper Tugay Rekin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Balcova's Faruk Nafiz Ulvi got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 55th minute of the match, Faruk Nafiz Ulvi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tugay Rekin saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Yavuz Bülent Taib's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tugay Rekin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Erkan Zeynelabidin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mesudiye's supporters rose to their feet, but Erkan Zeynelabidin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ahmet Nasir Baykal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 68thth minute of the game Cihangir Beyhan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Balcova's Ahmet Nasir Baykal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Faruk Nafiz Ulvi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tugay Rekin having to interfere. After 76 played minutes Balcova got a freekick which was hit by Yavuz Bülent Taib. When Mesudiye's Erkan Zeynelabidin in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Balcova's goalie prevented a goal. In the 85thth minute of the game Cihangir Beyhan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Balcova's Ahmet Nasir Baykal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 85th minute, Göksun Hidayettin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erkan Zeynelabidin spun around in front of the goal 86 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Balcova's goal. In the 92nd minute of the match, Yavuz Bülent Taib got a very nice opportunity to score, but Tugay Rekin was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
