Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cemil Yetişen in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Erdal Hataylı prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ciftlik's Cemil Yetişen got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nejat Alp Başdoğan scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erdal Hataylı, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Ciftlik's Cemil Yetişen in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 36th minute Cemil Yetişen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erdal Hataylı saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38thth minute of the game Nejat Alp Başdoğan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GALATASARAY's Erdal Hataylı was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 40th minute Cemil Yetişen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erdal Hataylı saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erdal Hataylı stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cemil Yetişen's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. In the 45th minute of the match Hamdi Ecemiş sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erdal Hataylı skillfully saved the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cemil Yetişen to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of GALATASARAY booed when Ciftlik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Güralp Sefa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nejat Alp Başdoğan hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Cemil Yetişen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Ciftlik's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 85 minutes into the match, Nejat Alp Başdoğan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Erdal Hataylı. GALATASARAY's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nejat Alp Başdoğan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. When Kaan Saygılı fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ciftlik's protests and gave Kaan Saygılı a yellow card for diving instead. After 89 played minutes Ciftlik got a freekick which was hit by Kaan Saygılı. In the 92nd minute, GALATASARAY's Ahmet Çağrı Kavaş seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ahmet Çağrı Kavaş the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of GALATASARAY protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ahmet Çağrı Kavaş had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 92nd minute of the game. One of GALATASARAY:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ciftlik:s goal. The goalkeeper, Erdal Hataylı, was totally fooled by Ciftlik's Hamdi Ecemiş, who 94 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cemil Yetişen in the 100th minute of play forced GALATASARAY's goalkeeper Erdal Hataylı to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over Ciftlik could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than GALATASARAY throughout the match.
