The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Servet Alatay came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Gayrettepe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Servet Alatay couldn't finish the play. Balamir Başkaya showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Turan Uyun, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Evcilerspor's Balamir Başkaya proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Evcilerspor from getting a goal against them. The attack was good, but when Yılmaz Rüştü in the 12th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Ahmet Turan Uyun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Balamir Başkaya managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when Gayrettepe's Ahmet Turan Uyun fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Balamir Başkaya showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmet Turan Uyun in the 19th minute of the match. When Ahmet Turan Uyun came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Gayrettepe fans jumped to their feet. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ahmet Turan Uyun made a kick off. A collision led to Gayrettepe getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Aşık Torel hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rahmi Arıbaş got free with Gürkan Tekmil in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Servet Alatay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute, Ahmet Oğuz Evvel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 84 minutes into the match, Evcilerspor's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Turan Uyun came free, but Balamir Başkaya reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Servet Alatay's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Balamir Başkaya read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Ahmet Turan Uyun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Balamir Başkaya having to interfere. The Evcilerspor supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Evcilerspor would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
