The referee ignored Bakirköy's protests and gave Cahit Acabey a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Cahit Acabey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peker Özkurt in the 11th minute of play forced Bakirköy's goalkeeper İbrahim Acaroğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peker Özkurt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. İbrahim Acaroğlu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Soma JK booed when Bakirköy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fikret Bedük didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute Yüksel Cevar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but İbrahim Acaroğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Yüksel Cevar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Peker Özkurt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without İbrahim Acaroğlu having to interfere.

Peker Özkurt struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. İbrahim Acaroğlu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Soma JK. Yüksel Cevar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Peker Özkurt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peker Özkurt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Peker Özkurt in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck İbrahim Acaroğlu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 72nd minute, Yüksel Cevar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Yüksel Cevar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without İbrahim Acaroğlu having to interfere. Soma JK's Peker Özkurt got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cezmi Sıratullah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Ahmet Korkut Tanyıldız tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Affan Şanberk might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ahmet Korkut Tanyıldız. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Affan Şanberk ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Fikret Bedük managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bakirköy's supporters rose to their feet, but Fikret Bedük was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ahmet Korkut Tanyıldız breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cezmi Sıratullah blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ahmet Korkut Tanyıldız having to make a save.
