Şerafettin İlhanoğlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oğuzcan Mübarek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Mut JK booed when Mersin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Atalay Urangu didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ahmet Vefik Açar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ahmet Vefik Açar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Haluk Nurdag struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Harun Sözmen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mersin. If Oğuzcan Mübarek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oğuzcan Mübarek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Şerafettin İlhanoğlu having to interfere. 33 minutes into the game, one of Mut JK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 35 minutes, Mersin's Doğuş Belge got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Harun Sözmen. If Haluk Nurdag had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st match minute, Mut JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tuncer Öktuğ to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Haluk Nurdag stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Mersin booed when Mut JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mazhar Haneci didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd match minute, Mersin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Macit Hacılar to maneuver through the defense. When Alpay Vahip fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mersin's protests and gave Alpay Vahip a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Vefik Açar in the 69th minute of play forced Mut JK's goalkeeper Harun Sözmen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Harun Sözmen came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Mersin's Ahmet Vefik Açar. But to his dismay, Ahmet Vefik Açar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Tuncer Öktuğ charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tuncer Öktuğ the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Mut JK's Tuncer Öktuğ got a free kick in the 81st minute. Mersin's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Doğuş Belge in the 84th minute. If Cevdet Sebuk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oğuzcan Mübarek in the 90th minute of play forced Mersin's goalkeeper Şerafettin İlhanoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Mersin's goal looked a bit too open when Oğuzcan Mübarek came free, but Şerafettin İlhanoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute Ahmet Vefik Açar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harun Sözmen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mersin's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
