The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Malatya Sk's Recep Tayyip Alpman got a free kick in the 2nd minute. 5 minutes into the game, Vural Hürmetli was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Malatya Sk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cerrahpasa the free kick. In the 5th minute, Vural Hürmetli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 6th minute, Paşa Tankut got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cerrahpasa's Menderes Tarık played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yahya Kemal Yesari in the 8th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, İsa Vasif had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Menderes Tarık. Cerrahpasa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that İsa Vasif was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Cerrahpasa's Menderes Tarık played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yahya Kemal Yesari in the 12th minute of play. Menderes Tarık made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yahya Kemal Yesari in the 14th minute of play. A collision led to Malatya Sk getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Yahya Kemal Yesari hit a great ball. Menderes Tarık made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ufuk Hanedan in the 19th minute of play. Malatya Sk's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Ahmet Sedat Refiğ scored to the left of an out of position Şahap Kutsel, making the score, 1-2. The Cerrahpasa players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Malatya Sk were winning 1-2.
Vural Hürmetli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Menderes Tarık having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yahya Kemal Yesari in the 55th minute of play forced Cerrahpasa's goalkeeper Menderes Tarık to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Menderes Tarık made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yahya Kemal Yesari in the 56th minute of play. İsa Vasif could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Menderes Tarık made a huge save. Menderes Tarık showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yahya Kemal Yesari, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Vural Hürmetli ran back to his position shaking his head. Menderes Tarık took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yahya Kemal Yesari, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Cerrahpasa defense, Yahya Kemal Yesari kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Menderes Tarık. The Cerrahpasa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Menderes Tarık should have stopped the shot. Menderes Tarık stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yahya Kemal Yesari's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Cerrahpasa's goalkeeper Menderes Tarık had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by İsa Vasif. Menderes Tarık didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Murat Rical went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet as Malatya Sk's Ufuk Hanedan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Menderes Tarık. That made the score 1-6 after 94 minutes of play.
