Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The audience thought a goal was coming when Kadir Erşahan got free with Kurtuluş Şahan in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gömec's Kurtuluş Şahan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Gömec from getting a goal against them. Şenel Necdet came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Gömec's Ensar Nejat. But to his dismay, Ensar Nejat quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Şenel Necdet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sabri Ünal, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 0-2 became the score in the 21st minute when Ensar Nejat elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 28th match minute, Gömec was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mehmet Oğuz Yalavaç to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Valenciennes FC's Özdemir Çağan tried to score from far away in the 29th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Kurtuluş Şahan was out of position in the 30 minute of play, and Celil Dönmez capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Celil Dönmez really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. When Valenciennes FC's Celil Dönmez in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Celil Dönmez in the 57th minute of play forced Gömec's goalkeeper Kurtuluş Şahan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Mahmut Sabahaddin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gömec's supporters rose to their feet, but Mahmut Sabahaddin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Şenel Necdet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Sabri Ünal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valenciennes FC's Şenel Necdet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mahmut Sabahaddin in the 70th minute of play. Kurtuluş Şahan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kadir Erşahan in the 73rd minute of the match. 81 minutes into the match, Valenciennes FC's Kadir Erşahan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kurtuluş Şahan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Celil Dönmez came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Valenciennes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celil Dönmez couldn't finish the play.
