If Baykal Özalpsan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 12 minutes into the match, Göztepe 1925's goal looked a bit too open when Baykal Özalpsan came free, but Gökhan Batı reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Baykal Özalpsan scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gökhan Batı, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mahmut Derviş might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gökhan Batı. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mahmut Derviş ran back to his position shaking his head. If Mahmut Derviş had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Veysel Hızlı fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafa Paulista having to interfere. Rafa Paulista made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Veysel Hızlı sent off a good shot on target. In the 31st match minute, Göztepe 1925 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Veysel Hızlı to maneuver through the defense. Mahmut Derviş sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gökhan Batı made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gencalp Mengübay in the 34th minute of play. Gökhan Batı didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mahmut Derviş went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. If Mahmut Derviş had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Göztepe 1925's Gökhan Batı played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baykal Özalpsan in the 41st minute of play. In the 46th minute Baykal Özalpsan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gökhan Batı saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The wind increased when Mahmut Derviş made the kick off in the second half. When Ahmet Göktuğ İnegöllü fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Göztepe 1925's protests and gave Ahmet Göktuğ İnegöllü a yellow card for diving instead. When Baykal Özalpsan came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Gülbahçe SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baykal Özalpsan couldn't finish the play. Gökhan Batı showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mahmut Derviş, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Gökhan Batı took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mahmut Derviş, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Göztepe 1925's zone, Baykal Özalpsan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gökhan Batı came out of the goal and Baykal Özalpsan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 69th minute, Can Yordam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Çelebi Okutan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gökhan Batı took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mahmut Derviş, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Göztepe 1925's goalkeeper Gökhan Batı, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Can Yordam kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Nuratay Oğuz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gökhan Batı having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Gülbahçe SK's Mahmut Derviş slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gökhan Batı. That made the score 0-4 after 89 minutes of play. Gülbahçe SK played a much better game than Göztepe 1925 and deserved their victory. The Göztepe 1925 players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
