After a defensive mix-up in Banaz's zone, Arslan Aşık stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aşık Himmet came out of the goal and Arslan Aşık tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25th minute Arslan Aşık shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aşık Himmet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aşık Himmet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arslan Aşık, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Baki Resul made the kick off in the second half. Aykutalp Bekdemir made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baki Resul in the 52nd minute of play. With a little luck, Banaz's Aşık Himmet got control of the ball when Edip Özmut tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Çaykur Rizespor's Arslan Aşık in 59 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Aşık Himmet guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Necip Güneş's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aykutalp Bekdemir read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Çaykur Rizespor's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
