The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Kılıçalp Balkanlı fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Konyaspor's protests and gave Kılıçalp Balkanlı a yellow card for diving instead. Kılıçalp Balkanlı hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute Batu Gökdoğan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yahya Arpacıoğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bülent Vahdettin kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. After some careless play in the HasanGeckin defense, Mansur Yücesan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yahya Arpacıoğlu. The HasanGeckin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yahya Arpacıoğlu should have stopped the shot. Batu Gökdoğan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yahya Arpacıoğlu having to interfere. Yiğitcan Bozlak kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Faruk Nafiz Durul took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Yahya Arpacıoğlu. HasanGeckin's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Batu Gökdoğan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yahya Arpacıoğlu having to interfere. If Batu Gökdoğan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in HasanGeckin's zone, Batu Gökdoğan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yahya Arpacıoğlu came out of the goal and Batu Gökdoğan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rafet Sungurtekin was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Kılıçalp Balkanlı notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of HasanGeckin's Yahya Arpacıoğlu. Yahya Arpacıoğlu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kılıçalp Balkanlı got his second yellow card in the match during the 57th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 58 played minutes Konyaspor got a freekick which was hit by Kılıçalp Balkanlı. When Mansur Yücesan fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Yusuf Bahadır Naci showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bülent Vahdettin, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Yiğitcan Bozlak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yusuf Bahadır Naci read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Batu Gökdoğan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Yahya Arpacıoğlu when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
