In the 3rd minute, Fahri Durualp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ajax Amsterdam's Okanay Kapsam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ali Emir Yildıran in the 5th minute of play. In the 5th minute Ali Emir Yildıran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Okanay Kapsam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ajax Amsterdam's Okanay Kapsam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mehmet Hamdi Hürsel in the 7th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Ajax Amsterdam's goal looked a bit too open when Bahattin Tuncay came free, but Okanay Kapsam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, FenerBahçeSK's goalkeeper Troy Walls had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aral Kutlan. With an all-out effort, Ajax Amsterdam's Troy Walls threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cumali Tuğsav, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 16 minutes into the match, Mehmet Hamdi Hürsel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Okanay Kapsam. Ajax Amsterdam's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mehmet Hamdi Hürsel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cumali Tuğsav in the 20th minute of play forced FenerBahçeSK's goalkeeper Troy Walls to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute Mehmet Hamdi Hürsel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Okanay Kapsam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Okanay Kapsam came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by FenerBahçeSK's Cristoforo Crema. But to his dismay, Cristoforo Crema quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Hulusi Ünüvar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Troy Walls made a huge save. Hulusi Ünüvar kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Ajax Amsterdam's Okanay Kapsam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ersan Akgüngör in the 35th minute of play. Cumali Tuğsav sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ersan Akgüngör hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After 43 played minutes Ajax Amsterdam got a freekick which was hit by Nazil Niğdeli. A collision led to FenerBahçeSK getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Mehmet Hamdi Hürsel hit a great ball. The Ajax Amsterdam players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FenerBahçeSK were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mehmet Hamdi Hürsel made a kick off. Cristoforo Crema took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Okanay Kapsam. Okanay Kapsam dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Cristoforo Crema could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Okanay Kapsam made a huge save. Okanay Kapsam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bahattin Tuncay, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Okanay Kapsam was a little too slow when Mehmet Hamdi Hürsel got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 1-4. 68 minutes into the game, Ajax Amsterdam's Cumali Tuğsav nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Troy Walls made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. Okanay Kapsam made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bahattin Tuncay in the 75th minute. After some careless play in the FenerBahçeSK defense, Alp Aras kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Troy Walls. The FenerBahçeSK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Troy Walls should have stopped the shot. Eliseu Félix received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Okanay Kapsam came out and tried to block the shot, but Eliseu Félix slotted it home off the left post making it 3-5 in the 82nd minute. 86 minutes into the match, Ajax Amsterdam's goal looked a bit too open when Mehmet Hamdi Hürsel came free, but Okanay Kapsam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Troy Walls took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aral Kutlan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cumali Tuğsav sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FenerBahçeSK had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
