But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abay Sezmen couldn't finish the play. 13 minutes into the game, Fehmi Onursu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Haşmet Paksoy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fehmi Onursu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zaid Çol hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Haşmet Paksoy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abay Sezmen in the 25th minute of the match. Ovacik's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abay Sezmen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The wind increased when Abay Sezmen made the kick off in the second half. If Abay Sezmen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute, Fehmi Onursu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Abay Sezmen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Haşmet Paksoy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abay Sezmen in the 76th minute of play forced FenerBahçe's goalkeeper Haşmet Paksoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
