The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Gerze JK's goal looked a bit too open when Kerim Hasret came free, but Oğuzer Tunçöven reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gökceada's Seyhun Batır proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Gökceada from getting a goal against them. Hadi Bilen's late challenge caught a Gerze JK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hadi Bilen helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Gökceada's Hadi Bilen got a free kick in the 12th minute. Boğaç Aksungur blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Seyhun Batır having to make a save. Hüseyin Rahmi Gündem scored 1-0 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Seyhun Batır, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hüseyin Rahmi Gündem could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Seyhun Batır made a huge save. A collision led to Gerze JK getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Niyazi Akbuğ hit a great ball. Ahmet Korkut Danış might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oğuzer Tunçöven. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hüseyin Rahmi Gündem might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Seyhun Batır. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. With his leg Seyhun Batır managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when Gerze JK's Hüseyin Rahmi Gündem fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ahmet Korkut Danış fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oğuzer Tunçöven having to interfere. In the 40th match minute, Gerze JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emrullah Yavuz to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Boğaç Aksungur stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ahmet Korkut Danış received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Oğuzer Tunçöven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Fadıl Yalınayak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 86 minutes, Hüseyin Rahmi Gündem made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Gökceada's Seyhun Batır tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
