The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sarper Özbal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Kamil İpçi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8th minute, Orhan Seyfi Bozkurt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Aşır Taygar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kamil İpçi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baskın Baştürk, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. If İskender Haliç had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kamil İpçi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baskın Baştürk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Sarper Özbal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Baskın Baştürk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Eskil FK's Kamil İpçi got control of the ball when Sarper Özbal tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 26th minute, Remzi Talaykan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kamil İpçi was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Kazım Tanyeri. In the 42nd minute Aşır Taygar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bulut Kayaalp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bulut Kayaalp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from İskender Haliç in the 44th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baskın Baştürk in the 46th minute of play forced Eskil FK's goalkeeper Kamil İpçi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Baskın Baştürk to make the kick off. If Aşır Taygar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bozkurt JK's Bulut Kayaalp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aşır Taygar in the 58th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baskın Baştürk in the 70th minute of play forced Eskil FK's goalkeeper Kamil İpçi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Eskil FK getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Remzi Talaykan hit a great ball. Baskın Baştürk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kamil İpçi having to interfere. Kamil İpçi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sarper Özbal in the 79th minute of play. After having played for 84 minutes, Baskın Baştürk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bozkurt JK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baskın Baştürk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 86th minute Sarper Özbal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kamil İpçi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kamil İpçi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baskın Baştürk in the 92nd minute of play.
