Alemdar İlkay started the match with the kick off. Yeniköy JK's Kazım Buğra got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tanju Borlu charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tanju Borlu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tanju Borlu kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Yeniköy JK's İlhami Uzalp proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Yeniköy JK from getting a goal against them. İlhami Uzalp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alemdar İlkay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alemdar İlkay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Tokat's Cumhur Sabir got a free kick in the 21st minute. Kazım Buğra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kazım Buğra took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bektaş Okanay. Bektaş Okanay dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 27th minute Yalçın Kutalmış shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bektaş Okanay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was a penalty for Yeniköy JK! The goalkeeper, İlhami Uzalp, was totally fooled by Tokat's Ferdi Yolaç, who 43 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After the first half Yeniköy JK were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kazım Buğra was the one to do the kick off. Baybora Tunçsoy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. İlhami Uzalp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Kazım Buğra came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Yeniköy JK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kazım Buğra couldn't finish the play. İlhami Uzalp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baybora Tunçsoy, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. The supporters of Yeniköy JK booed when Tokat was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cumhur Sabir didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute, Kazım Buğra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kazım Buğra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bektaş Okanay having to interfere. Sergen Alkın received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bektaş Okanay came out and tried to block the shot, but Sergen Alkın slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 81st minute. Yeniköy JK's İlhami Uzalp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baybora Tunçsoy in the 85th minute of play. Alemdar İlkay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alemdar İlkay in the 91st minute of play forced Yeniköy JK's goalkeeper İlhami Uzalp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cumhur Sabir sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yeniköy JK's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
