Beşir Özoğuz came out of the goal and Haydar Başkara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sarioglan JK's Esen Ergümen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tolga Zade in the 5th minute of play. In the 6th minute, Tolga Zade left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Göztepe JK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Sarioglan JK's zone, Yağızalp Bağcı stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esen Ergümen came out of the goal and Yağızalp Bağcı tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Sarioglan JK getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Turan Kongurtay hit a great ball. After having played for 11 minutes, Tolga Zade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Göztepe JK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tolga Zade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 14th minute Tolga Zade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esen Ergümen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tolga Zade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Esen Ergümen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sarioglan JK's goalkeeper Esen Ergümen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sarioglan JK's Şakir Dengiz got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sarioglan JK's Esen Ergümen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tolga Zade in the 25th minute of play. Yağızalp Bağcı took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Esen Ergümen. Esen Ergümen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. When Vacid Melih fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Göztepe JK's protests and gave Vacid Melih a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st minute, Vacid Melih hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tolga Zade might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Esen Ergümen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tolga Zade ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Sarioglan JK defense, Yağızalp Bağcı kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Esen Ergümen. The Sarioglan JK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Esen Ergümen should have stopped the shot. 40 minutes into the match, Sarioglan JK's goal looked a bit too open when Yağızalp Bağcı came free, but Esen Ergümen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esen Ergümen came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Göztepe JK's Tolga Zade. But to his dismay, Tolga Zade quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Şakir Dengiz was the one to do the kick off. Sarioglan JK's Esen Ergümen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Sarioglan JK from getting a goal against them. Şakir Dengiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Beşir Özoğuz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tolga Zade struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Esen Ergümen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Göztepe JK. Sarioglan JK's Esen Ergümen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by İlkan Bayır in the 66th minute of play. Esen Ergümen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tolga Zade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Şakir Dengiz came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Sarioglan JK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Şakir Dengiz couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Feridun Vecih during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 75th minute of the game. One of Sarioglan JK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Göztepe JK:s goal. The goalkeeper, Esen Ergümen, was totally fooled by Göztepe JK's Süleyman Bülbül, who 77 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 83rd match minute, Sarioglan JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abdulkadir Yaşar to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute Şakir Dengiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beşir Özoğuz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 91st minute by Tolga Zade got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Göztepe JK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
