Merter FK's Gürbüz Sancaktar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulaş Yordam in the 7th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Merter FK's goal looked a bit too open when Rauf Şahiner came free, but Gürbüz Sancaktar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Merter FK's zone, Ulaş Yordam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gürbüz Sancaktar came out of the goal and Ulaş Yordam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Merter FK's Yalçın Sağbilge got a free kick in the 13th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Mustafa Hamit Bardakçı managed to get in a good position for a shot. Merter FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Mustafa Hamit Bardakçı was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Devlet Özen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ulaş Yordam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute, Rauf Şahiner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 29 minutes into the match, Merter FK's goal looked a bit too open when Ulaş Yordam came free, but Gürbüz Sancaktar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 1-0 became the score in the 31st minute when Doğa Koralp elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Rauf Şahiner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulaş Yordam struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Gürbüz Sancaktar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Devrek. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Rauf Şahiner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ahmet Hakan Güzir hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Ulaş Yordam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gürbüz Sancaktar having to interfere. When Ahmet Hakan Güzir fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Merter FK's protests and gave Ahmet Hakan Güzir a yellow card for diving instead. If Rauf Şahiner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Doğa Koralp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Devlet Özen having to interfere. In the 68thth minute of the game Doğa Koralp who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Devrek's Devlet Özen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Devlet Özen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doğa Koralp in the 70th minute of the match. Üzeyir Karar hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Mustafa Hamit Bardakçı received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Devlet Özen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gürbüz Sancaktar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rauf Şahiner in the 79th minute. Ulaş Yordam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rauf Şahiner was extremely unlucky when he, in the 83rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Rauf Şahiner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute.
