Türkeş Kutsan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Vahap Çiftçibaşı tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vahap Çiftçibaşı stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ömer Rıza Açıker's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. A collision led to Ilic SK getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Kurtuluş Bengi hit a great ball. Vahap Çiftçibaşı took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Türkeş Kutsan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ilic SK's Vahap Çiftçibaşı played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Türkeş Kutsan in the 17th minute of play. After the first half Kahramanmaras SK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kubat Ataner was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Türkeş Kutsan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ömer Rıza Açıker got free with Vahap Çiftçibaşı in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Şamil Kornes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kubat Ataner's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Türkeş Kutsan in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vahap Çiftçibaşı saved Ilic SK from getting behind. Vahap Çiftçibaşı made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ömer Rıza Açıker in the 68th minute. If Kubat Ataner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the game, Göksel Kolçak was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kahramanmaras SK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
