In the 6th minute of the match Özmen Evliya shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yıldırım Veziroğlu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sungurbey Erendiz's late challenge caught a Malatyaspor FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sungurbey Erendiz helped the player get up and apologised. In the 7th minute, Sungurbey Erendiz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Tugay Çimen came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Gattuzo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tugay Çimen couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute Zekeriya Ulum shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yıldırım Veziroğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gökalp Akbayrak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enver Karadeniz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. When Hıncal Irak fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Malatyaspor FK's protests and gave Hıncal Irak a yellow card for diving instead. Hıncal Irak hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 36th minute, Zekeriya Ulum made a precise shot to the right of Yıldırım Veziroğlu. Gattuzo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Malatyaspor FK's zone, Gökalp Akbayrak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enver Karadeniz came out of the goal and Gökalp Akbayrak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 47 minutes into the match, Gattuzo's goalkeeper Yıldırım Veziroğlu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hurşit Nurtekin. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gökalp Akbayrak to strike the kick off in the second half. Gökalp Akbayrak struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Enver Karadeniz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gattuzo. Gökalp Akbayrak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Enver Karadeniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Gökalp Akbayrak came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Gattuzo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gökalp Akbayrak couldn't finish the play. Tugay Çimen made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 63rdth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Enver Karadeniz would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Malatyaspor FK's goalkeeper Enver Karadeniz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gökalp Akbayrak in the 66th minute of play forced Malatyaspor FK's goalkeeper Enver Karadeniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Gattuzo getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Gökalp Akbayrak hit a great ball. When Hurşit Nurtekin fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Malatyaspor FK's Enver Karadeniz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Malatyaspor FK from getting a goal against them. Gattuzo's Yıldırım Veziroğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kamber Ağçelik in the 71st minute of play. Enver Karadeniz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gökalp Akbayrak in the 77th minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Zekeriya Ulum left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Malatyaspor FK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. With a little luck, Malatyaspor FK's Enver Karadeniz got control of the ball when Tugay Çimen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gökalp Akbayrak might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enver Karadeniz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gökalp Akbayrak ran back to his position shaking his head. Yıldırım Veziroğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zekeriya Ulum, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Gattuzo's zone, Hurşit Nurtekin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yıldırım Veziroğlu came out of the goal and Hurşit Nurtekin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Many of Gattuzo's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Gattuzo may have spent more time on the ball, but Malatyaspor FK were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
