The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ertunç Orcun hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Güneri Tayfun took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tekin Derinöz. Candir's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 8 played minutes Fenerbahçe got a freekick which was hit by Cihan Karaman. Babür Arkan, 9 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Cihan Karaman kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Sercan Tunçbilek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the match, Fenerbahçe's Caner İldeniz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tekin Derinöz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Candir's Tekin Derinöz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caner İldeniz in the 22nd minute of play. In the 26th match minute, Candir was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ceyhan Şatıroğlu to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Candir booed when Fenerbahçe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sercan Tunçbilek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aytekin Keyfer who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Tuncay Bakırcı when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 36th minute of the match Güneri Tayfun sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tekin Derinöz skillfully saved the ball. In the 37th match minute, Fenerbahçe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cihan Karaman to maneuver through the defense. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vehdi Acartürk was the one to do the kick off. Tuncay Bakırcı made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vehdi Acartürk in the 57th minute of play. Caner İldeniz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fazıl Hüsnü Uslu got free with Tekin Derinöz in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tekin Derinöz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caner İldeniz in the 68th minute of the match. In the 70th minute, Vehdi Acartürk left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Candir fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Fazıl Hüsnü Uslu struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Tekin Derinöz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fenerbahçe. When Candir's Aytekin Keyfer in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fenerbahçe's goalie prevented a goal. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Fenerbahçe! Aytekin Keyfer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tuncay Bakırcı read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Yunus Işık hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. If Fazıl Hüsnü Uslu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Fenerbahçe players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Candir.
