When Erkin Akçay fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sivas's protests and gave Erkin Akçay a yellow card for diving instead. Erkin Akçay kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Can Savtekin in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lütfullah Korur saved Sivas from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Birant Yesar took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Lütfullah Korur to make any attempt to save it. A hard shot 47 in the game by Birant Yesar from a close distance when the talented Lütfullah Korur managed to make a qualified save. Sivas's players were relieved. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

The supporters of Gültepe booed when Sivas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Songurhan Durualp didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Sivas getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Arif Burak Bilge hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Can Savtekin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lütfullah Korur was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Sivas's zone, Birant Yesar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lütfullah Korur came out of the goal and Birant Yesar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gültepe's Birant Yesar got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee ended the match the Gültepe players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
