E J D E R Y A's Rıfat Süleyman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save E J D E R Y A from getting a goal against them. In the 18th minute, Mehmet Halis Akdoruk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ekrem Balkanlıoğlu came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Mihalgazi FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ekrem Balkanlıoğlu couldn't finish the play. In the 28th minute, one of E J D E R Y A:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for E J D E R Y A. Rıfat Süleyman went to the wrong direction when Abdulbaki Kuyas was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Menderes Devlet got free with Rıfat Süleyman in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rıfat Süleyman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Batıhan Ereken, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Rıfat Süleyman came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Mihalgazi FK's Menderes Devlet. But to his dismay, Menderes Devlet quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Menderes Devlet in the 45th minute of play forced E J D E R Y A's goalkeeper Rıfat Süleyman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. E J D E R Y A's Rıfat Süleyman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdulbaki Kuyas in the 46th minute of play. Rıfat Süleyman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Batıhan Ereken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The audience was convinced that Günalp Elmastaş's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rıfat Süleyman was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Cevdet Orun ran back to his position shaking his head. Cevdet Orun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rıfat Süleyman having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Mihalgazi FK fully deserved thier win.
