Zekeriya Şükür made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gürbüz Ekvan in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Vahdet Şikel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zekeriya Şükür took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yağızalp Tekcan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Gürbüz Ekvan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kağan Baykal hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute, Gürbüz Ekvan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zekeriya Şükür was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vahdet Şikel showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 41 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Gürbüz Ekvan sped through HaŚhÂşÏLeR's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Zekeriya Şükür. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gürbüz Ekvan during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
