Şentürk Ayalp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mümtazer Yura having to interfere. Eleskirt's Sedat Şahistan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Göktuğ Şahbender in the 6th minute of play. When Buğra Serkut fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Eleskirt's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mehmet Bedri Talip was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ahmet Davut Öğüç sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sedat Şahistan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Göktuğ Şahbender, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Turan Cansever fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sedat Şahistan having to interfere. Pawel Sitko took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sedat Şahistan. Eleskirt's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Mümtazer Yura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mehmet Bedri Talip in the 46th minute of play. Mehmet Bedri Talip fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mümtazer Yura having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fırat Kaya was the one to do the kick off. Fırat Kaya succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-1 in the 53rd playminute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 59th minute of the game. One of Gaziantep:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Eleskirt:s goal. After a defensive mix-up in Eleskirt's zone, Turan Cansever stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sedat Şahistan came out of the goal and Turan Cansever tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 72nd minute, Ahmet Davut Öğüç got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 75 minutes into the match, Gaziantep's goal looked a bit too open when Turabi Zişan came free, but Mümtazer Yura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Devlet Avşaroğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eleskirt's supporters rose to their feet, but Devlet Avşaroğlu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mümtazer Yura breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Turan Cansever had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
