The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Tiberiu Macarie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, LEGIUNEA ROMÂNĂ's Virgil Honcioiu got a free kick in the 3rd minute. 9 minutes into the game, Ilie Taşcu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Once Upon a Time's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LEGIUNEA ROMÂNĂ the free kick. An unexpected shot in the 13th minute by Tiberiu Macarie got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Mitică in the 14th minute of play forced Once Upon a Time's goalkeeper Nae Andrieșanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiberiu Macarie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Grigore Cluceru made a huge save. Once Upon a Time's Nae Andrieșanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radu Zub in the 21st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Radu Zub in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nae Andrieșanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Tiberiu Macarie took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Grigore Cluceru to make any attempt to save it. LEGIUNEA ROMÂNĂ's Grigore Cluceru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiberiu Macarie in the 31st minute of play. Emanuel Barbăneagră charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emanuel Barbăneagră the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 32nd minute, Emanuel Barbăneagră hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute, Pompiliu Graur left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The LEGIUNEA ROMÂNĂ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Nae Andrieșanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radu Zub, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute, Once Upon a Time's Edgar Pantilimon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Grigore Cluceru. Grigore Cluceru yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Virgil Zbârciog to strike the kick off in the second half. Martin Neculuță hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Nae Andrieșanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radu Zub in the 57th minute of the match. The supporters of Once Upon a Time booed when LEGIUNEA ROMÂNĂ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Avram Casian didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute Tiberiu Macarie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grigore Cluceru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Once Upon a Time's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Mitică came free, but Nae Andrieșanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Grigore Cluceru didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tiberiu Macarie went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. 76 minutes into the game, Mădălin Ionaș cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Grigore Cluceru was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Once Upon a Time booed when LEGIUNEA ROMÂNĂ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Avram Casian didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Costin Milescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute Mădălin Ionaș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grigore Cluceru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victor Brășneanu hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. 93 minutes into the match, Once Upon a Time's goalkeeper Nae Andrieșanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Virgil Zbârciog. Once Upon a Time walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
