In the 4th minute, Carstesti's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Matei Şteflea fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Valentin Hâjdău showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costică Chitila in the 6th minute of the match. Matei Şteflea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Valentin Hâjdău made a huge save. In the 11th minute, Nechifor Zdrobiş hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Petrică Tâlvescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Emanuel Aanicăi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to F.C. Vaslui getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Lennart Bergkvist hit a great ball. F.C. Vaslui's Emanuel Aanicăi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristi Andone in the 20th minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Costică Chitila recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Valentin Hâjdău. Costică Chitila showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. F.C. Vaslui were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after Carstesti's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Matei Şteflea took the corner. Matei Şteflea made a great header on F.C. Vaslui's corner, it was just that Carstesti's Valentin Hâjdău managed to reach the ball for a save. After a defensive mix-up in Carstesti's zone, Costică Chitila stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentin Hâjdău came out of the goal and Costică Chitila tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Costică Chitila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matei Şteflea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Hâjdău having to interfere. If Costică Chitila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matei Şteflea got free with Valentin Hâjdău in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Carstesti defense, Matei Şteflea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valentin Hâjdău. The Carstesti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valentin Hâjdău should have stopped the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Eric Nestor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Hâjdău having to interfere. After some careless play in the Carstesti defense, Petruț Barascu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valentin Hâjdău. The Carstesti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valentin Hâjdău should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Costică Chitila managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C. Vaslui's supporters rose to their feet, but Costică Chitila was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valentin Hâjdău breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67th minute, Remus Hațegan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valentin Hâjdău showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matei Şteflea in the 72nd minute of the match. Carstesti's Valentin Hâjdău played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matei Şteflea in the 81st minute of play. Eusebiu Rădoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Hâjdău having to interfere. After 84th play minutes Costică Chitila shot 5-0, a short shot which went by Valentin Hâjdău and just under the crossbar into goal. If Matei Şteflea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valentin Hâjdău made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matei Şteflea in the 95th minute of play. Valentin Hâjdău came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by F.C. Vaslui's Costică Chitila. But to his dismay, Costică Chitila quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. F.C. Vaslui walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
