Isac Negrilă hit a great ball. 9 minutes into the match, Pacurarestii's goal looked a bit too open when Cătălin Miheș came free, but Horia Corbuț reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute Cătălin Miheș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horia Corbuț saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valentin Ilarie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mugur Alexiu in the 15th minute of play. Ovidiu Barboni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mugur Alexiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Mugur Alexiu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valentin Ilarie was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. After 25 played minutes Bazarghian got a freekick which was hit by Ernest Mândrilă. Mugur Alexiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cătălin Miheș in the 30th minute of play forced Pacurarestii's goalkeeper Horia Corbuț to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Petrică Surdilă struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Horia Corbuț didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bazarghian. In the 35th minute, Mugur Alexiu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 38th play minutes Mugur Alexiu shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Valentin Ilarie and just under the crossbar into goal. 42 minutes into the match, Pacurarestii's Mugur Alexiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valentin Ilarie narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 46th minute, Ilie Nisipeanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mugur Alexiu ran back to his position shaking his head. Mugur Alexiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Valentin Ilarie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pacurarestii's Ovidiu Barboni was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 74th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 78th minute of the match, Ovidiu Barboni tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Valentin Ilarie saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 80th minute of the match Pacurarestii got a corner. Bazarghian's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mihăiţă Stănculescu ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 82nd minute, Bazarghian's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Mugur Alexiu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 83 minutes into the match, Bazarghian's goal looked a bit too open when Ovidiu Barboni came free, but Valentin Ilarie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Bazarghian's zone, Mugur Alexiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentin Ilarie came out of the goal and Mugur Alexiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ovidiu Barboni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ovidiu Barboni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valentin Ilarie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mugur Alexiu in the 95th minute. Pacurarestii played a much better game than Bazarghian and deserved their victory. The Bazarghian players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
