Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cazimir Mincu started the match with the kick off. Tiberiu Dăscălescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zaharesti's Tiberiu Dăscălescu got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cazimir Mincu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavian Sabău having to interfere. Cazimir Mincu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 15 minutes into the match, Zaharesti's goal looked a bit too open when Pompiliu Boldișor came free, but Dumitru Arsenescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zaharesti's Dumitru Arsenescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ionică Oprea in the 16th minute of play. A collision led to Zaharesti getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Nicolae Videanu hit a great ball. Tiberiu Dăscălescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Steaua's goal looked a bit too open when Cazimir Mincu came free, but Octavian Sabău reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Steaua booed when Zaharesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiberiu Dăscălescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Zaharesti's Cazimir Mincu got a free kick in the 28th minute. Zaharesti's Dumitru Arsenescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ionică Oprea in the 34th minute of play. If Tiberiu Dăscălescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiberiu Dăscălescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Octavian Sabău tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Tiberiu Dăscălescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eusebiu Tănăsocă was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 58 minutes, Cazimir Mincu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zaharesti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cazimir Mincu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eusebiu Tănăsocă scored 0-2 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dumitru Arsenescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Steaua's Octavian Sabău played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cazimir Mincu in the 76th minute of play. In the 84th match minute, Zaharesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cazimir Mincu to maneuver through the defense. Octavian Sabău showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cazimir Mincu, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. After 94 played minutes Zaharesti got a freekick which was hit by Mugur Chifu. Eusebiu Tănăsocă's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 95thth minute, Dumitru Arsenescu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Steaua had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
