Sever Neața showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Iliescu in the 7th minute of the match. 0-1 became the score in the 8th minute when Ivan Iliescu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 11th match minute, Ciuntesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Octav Nicoliță to maneuver through the defense. Irinel Bărbuceanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iuri Paraíba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the match, Ciuntesti's goalkeeper Irinel Bărbuceanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mihăiţă Dragotescu. Martin Bărnuțiu struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Irinel Bărbuceanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ghimpoaia. Eric Nedelcea's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Irinel Bărbuceanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Remus Grigoriu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Sever Neața tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ciuntesti's goalkeeper Irinel Bărbuceanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 42 minutes into the game, Martin Bărnuțiu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Irinel Bărbuceanu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Slavko Roža stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ivan Iliescu in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ghimpoaia's zone, Remus Grigoriu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sever Neața came out of the goal and Remus Grigoriu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Slavko Roža's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Irinel Bărbuceanu was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. 71 minutes into the game, Ciuntesti's Remus Grigoriu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sever Neața made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. When Ivan Iliescu came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Ciuntesti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Iliescu couldn't finish the play. Slavko Roža fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Irinel Bărbuceanu having to interfere. 82 minutes into the match, Iuri Paraíba notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Ciuntesti's Irinel Bărbuceanu. Irinel Bărbuceanu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ivan Iliescu struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Sever Neața didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ciuntesti. If Remus Grigoriu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ghimpoaia were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Ciuntesti to leave the ground with a draw.
