Anton Goicea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Laurențiu Nestian's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Traian Horațiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Anton Goicea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 11 minutes into the match, Laurențiu Nestian had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anton Goicea. FC REAL MADRID's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Laurențiu Nestian was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. FC REAL MADRID's Rareș Bălăiță suffered a concussion in the 15th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. 15 minutes into the game, Nicu Diaconescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Steaua Falticeni's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC REAL MADRID the free kick. A collision led to Steaua Falticeni getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Nicu Diaconescu hit a great ball. With a little luck, Steaua Falticeni's Marcu Huțanu got control of the ball when Fernando Delgado tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Laurențiu Nestian fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Steaua Falticeni's protests and gave Laurențiu Nestian a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC REAL MADRID booed when Steaua Falticeni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laurențiu Nestian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernando Delgado who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Marcu Huțanu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 24 minutes, Filip Răduțu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC REAL MADRID and the Steaua Falticeni players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to FC REAL MADRID getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Filip Răduțu hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernando Delgado in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcu Huțanu saved Steaua Falticeni from getting behind. In the 31stth minute of the game Osmar de Amaral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC REAL MADRID's Anton Goicea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcu Huțanu made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Leontin Caramarin sent off a good shot on target. After 36 minutes of play, Steaua Falticeni's Traian Horațiu made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anton Goicea was left in no man's land by his defense there! 43 minutes into the match, FC REAL MADRID's Leontin Caramarin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcu Huțanu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 44 minutes into the match, Traian Horațiu notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of FC REAL MADRID's Anton Goicea. Anton Goicea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The wind increased when Laurențiu Nestian made the kick off in the second half. Marcu Huțanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leontin Caramarin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 55 minutes of play Steaua Falticeni's Nicu Diaconescu was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of FC REAL MADRID booed when Steaua Falticeni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicu Diaconescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leontin Caramarin in the 66th minute of play forced Steaua Falticeni's goalkeeper Marcu Huțanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Steaua Falticeni's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Delgado came free, but Marcu Huțanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th play minute Pavel Pintilescu came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Anton Goicea. 1-5. Steaua Falticeni's Marcu Huțanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leontin Caramarin in the 80th minute of play. Olimpiu Ţopescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Marcu Huțanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 86 minutes, Fernando Delgado made it 2-5 with a short kick to the right side. Steaua Falticeni's Marcu Huțanu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Mai Tare hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match.
