In the 8th minute, Felix Dragalina reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cazimir Davidescu. The goal made the score 1-0. If Felix Dragalina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Felix Dragalina managed to get in a good position for a shot. Spinul CSM's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Dragalina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cazimir Davidescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 21 minutes of play, Phoenix Baia Mare's Petre Zafiu made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Horia Turcescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Phoenix Baia Mare getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Rareș Antonescu hit a great ball. Cazimir Davidescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felix Dragalina's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Cosmin Gafița recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Felix Dragalina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd match minute, Phoenix Baia Mare was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Octavian Cozmâncă to maneuver through the defense. Cazimir Davidescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Dragalina in the 38th minute. Cazimir Davidescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manole Pistol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cazimir Davidescu made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Felix Dragalina sent off a good shot on target. When Felix Dragalina came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Spinul CSM fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Dragalina couldn't finish the play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Felix Dragalina stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Şuţu in the 57th minute of play forced Spinul CSM's goalkeeper Horia Turcescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Felix Dragalina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Phoenix Baia Mare booed when Spinul CSM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rareș Hulubei didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damian Şuţu, 67 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Felix Dragalina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cazimir Davidescu having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Spinul CSM's Felix Dragalina sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cazimir Davidescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 72 played minutes Phoenix Baia Mare got a freekick which was hit by Rareș Antonescu. Rareș Antonescu's late challenge caught a Spinul CSM's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rareș Antonescu helped the player get up and apologised. Rareș Antonescu hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. 79 minutes into the game, Felix Dragalina cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Cazimir Davidescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Felix Dragalina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cazimir Davidescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Cosmin Gafița struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Cazimir Davidescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Spinul CSM. Octavian Cozmâncă kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Manole Pistol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cazimir Davidescu having to interfere. Petre Zafiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Spinul CSM had played much better football throughout.
