Edgar Verzea charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Pietrestii's Bálint Rigó got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paul Pogba was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Gyepes CS's Dinu Dulca got control of the ball when Bálint Rigó tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gyepes CS's Dinu Dulca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Gyepes CS from getting a goal against them. 59 minutes in the game, Paul Pogba fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Dinu Dulca having to interfere. Pietrestii's supporters rose to their feet, but Bálint Rigó was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dinu Dulca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
