Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Codruț Lera started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in FC Marina Constanta's zone, Ionică Loghin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurel Cazimir came out of the goal and Ionică Loghin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 10 minutes in the game, Codruț Lera fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Remus Geamănu having to interfere. After a rather tough play, STEAUA BUCURESTI's Calistrat Urduban got a free kick in the 10th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vali Avramescu got free with Remus Geamănu in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Codruț Lera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes into the match, STEAUA BUCURESTI's goalkeeper Remus Geamănu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Octavian Bălan. STEAUA BUCURESTI's defense didn't have a chance, in the 23rd minute, when Nicolae Fânaru scored to the left of an out of position Remus Geamănu, making the score, 1-0. Octavian Bălan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remus Geamănu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute FC Marina Constanta were awarded a corner. Mădălin Ghițescu went to the cornerflag to take it. Aurel Cazimir made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calistrat Urduban in the 33rd minute of play. Toader Mititelu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remus Geamănu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Remus Geamănu came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Marina Constanta's Octavian Bălan. But to his dismay, Octavian Bălan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. FC Marina Constanta's Octavian Bălan got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ionică Loghin made a kick off. If Vali Avramescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Octavian Bălan scored 3-0 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Remus Geamănu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dinu Golumbean charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dinu Golumbean the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 65th minute of the game. One of STEAUA BUCURESTI:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Marina Constanta:s goal. After having played for 70 minutes, Codruț Lera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Marina Constanta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Codruț Lera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Octavian Bălan scored 5-0 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Remus Geamănu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Codruț Lera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Remus Geamănu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Octavian Bălan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Remus Geamănu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Codruț Lera went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, STEAUA BUCURESTI's Calistrat Urduban got a free kick in the 91st minute. If Toader Mititelu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Remus Geamănu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Octavian Bălan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC Marina Constanta fully deserved thier win.
