The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 8 minutes, Panait Spârlea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brebenesti CSS and the Vladestii players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 8th minute, Panait Spârlea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Toader Brăescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Brebenesti CSS's Horia Plopșor got a free kick in the 10th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Vladestii's Codruț Perișoară broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Marian Golumbean hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After 21 played minutes Brebenesti CSS got a freekick which was hit by Horaţiu Velicu. After some careless play in the Brebenesti CSS defense, Toader Brăescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aron Stănoiu. The Brebenesti CSS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aron Stănoiu should have stopped the shot. Panait Spârlea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornel Botea having to interfere. The supporters of Brebenesti CSS booed when Vladestii was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sabin Ispirescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Vladestii were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A collision led to Brebenesti CSS getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Horia Plopșor hit a great ball. After having played for 59 minutes, Toader Brăescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vladestii's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toader Brăescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 66th minute David Cristoloveanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aron Stănoiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aron Stănoiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Cristoloveanu in the 73rd minute of play. Aron Stănoiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Cristoloveanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After having played for 78 minutes, Toader Brăescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vladestii's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toader Brăescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 82 minutes in the game, David Cristoloveanu fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Aron Stănoiu having to interfere. In the 86th minute David Cristoloveanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aron Stănoiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Vladestii had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
