Nicolae Manciu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vali Potoroacă having to interfere. Emil Petruț struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Fabian Turcu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tantarea. 13 minutes into the match, Tantarea's goal looked a bit too open when Aurel Ichimescu came free, but Vali Potoroacă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emil Petruț took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabian Turcu. Fabian Turcu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 26 minutes, Emil Petruț mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tantarea and the FC Steaua Bucuresti players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of FC Steaua Bucuresti booed when Tantarea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emil Petruț didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 31 played minutes Tantarea got a freekick which was hit by Alexandru Gârdescu. In the 34th minute, Emil Petruț got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Tantarea's goal looked a bit too open when Narcis Boltașu came free, but Vali Potoroacă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
