The audience thought a goal was coming when Laurențiu Munteanu got free with Mihai Ponor in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Laurențiu Munteanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Mihai Ponor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, FC Academia Vlahilor's goal looked a bit too open when Vali Boștină came free, but Ovidiu Poplăcean reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to FC Academia Vlahilor getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Calistrat Popeangă hit a great ball. Grigore Răcănel struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Ovidiu Poplăcean didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Julfeni CSM. The supporters of Julfeni CSM booed when FC Academia Vlahilor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emil Urducea didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Julfeni CSM's Grigore Răcănel fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Vali Boștină received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Ovidiu Poplăcean tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Julfeni CSM's goalkeeper Mihai Ponor had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laurențiu Munteanu. Mihai Ponor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mihail Donecea's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. After a rather tough play, Julfeni CSM's Sandu Marica got a free kick in the 28th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Julfeni CSM's goal looked a bit too open when Mihail Donecea came free, but Mihai Ponor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Laurențiu Munteanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Mihai Ponor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 33 minutes into the game, when Mihail Mârza put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Academia Vlahilor fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 32nd minute. Penalty! In the 38th match minute, Julfeni CSM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandu Marica to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the match, FC Academia Vlahilor's Laurențiu Munteanu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mihai Ponor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Calistrat Popeangă kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Grigore Răcănel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ovidiu Poplăcean having to make a save. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After a rather tough play, Julfeni CSM's Cazimir Răducanu got a free kick in the 56th minute. Calistrat Popeangă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Mihai Ponor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Grigore Răcănels short, quick shot in the 61stth minute got Ovidiu Poplăcean to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurențiu Munteanu in the 62nd minute of play forced Julfeni CSM's goalkeeper Mihai Ponor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Vali Boștină had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laurențiu Munteanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Mihai Ponor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 67 played minutes Julfeni CSM got a freekick which was hit by Sandu Marica. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurențiu Munteanu in the 68th minute of play forced Julfeni CSM's goalkeeper Mihai Ponor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the FC Academia Vlahilor defense, Grigore Răcănel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ovidiu Poplăcean. The FC Academia Vlahilor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ovidiu Poplăcean should have stopped the shot. The attack was good, but when Vali Boștină in the 76th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. With his leg Ovidiu Poplăcean managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when Julfeni CSM's Grigore Răcănel fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 82 minutes into the match, FC Academia Vlahilor's goalkeeper Ovidiu Poplăcean had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Grigore Răcănel. Emil Urducea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Mihai Ponor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mihai Ponor came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Academia Vlahilor's Laurențiu Munteanu. But to his dismay, Laurențiu Munteanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. If Laurențiu Munteanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ovidiu Poplăcean took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vali Boștină, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
