In the 3rd minute, Remus Marghescu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mugur Buzea. The goal made the score 1-0. If Luca Bologa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brusturoasa's Mugur Buzea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remus Marghescu in the 8th minute of play. After 10 played minutes Blaju FCM got a freekick which was hit by Nicu Tănăsescu. Aristide Comănescu's late challenge caught a Brusturoasa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aristide Comănescu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th minute, Aristide Comănescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brusturoasa's Vasile Sârban got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Blaju FCM's Petru Plopeanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Ghimiș in the 20th minute of play. Mugur Buzea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eugeniusz Dlugi in the 24th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Irinel Covaci in the 26th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Blaju FCM's Aristide Comănescu. Petru Plopeanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ovidiu Stroe in the 31st minute of the match. In the 37thth minute of the game David Ghimiș who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Blaju FCM's Petru Plopeanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Petru Plopeanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ovidiu Stroe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute Remus Marghescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mugur Buzea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Remus Marghescu to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that David Ghimiș's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Petru Plopeanu was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. The referee felt a red card was in order, 68 minutes into the game, when Toader Casian put in a rough tackle. In the 72ndth minute of the game Ovidiu Stroe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Blaju FCM's Petru Plopeanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eugeniusz Dlugi during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 81 played minutes Blaju FCM got a freekick which was hit by Eugeniusz Dlugi. The supporters of Brusturoasa booed when Blaju FCM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position.
